*sigh*

The bad

  • Our hot water heater broke while we were on vacation
  • Our credit card bill as a result of both these hitting at once is going to be very painful
  • While HMC may provide excellent trauma care, they cause me mental trauma & have for 7 years as a part of my job

The good

  • The heater didn't result in a flood requiring insurance involvement, just damp areas fans & a rental dehumidifier will fix
  • The pipes didn't break again
  • We had a wonderful time in Victoria, the Saanich peninsula and Cowichan valley
  • Despite eating colossal amounts of rich breakfasts, I lost weight & inches
  • I got a 4.0 last quarter after all
  • All fires at work are manageable

More later, I can't say I'm all that glad to be home. I'm starting to get that feeling of 'why am I leaving here?' every time we leave Victoria that I used to have when I went back to California from Seattle. This is the first time we went off the city tourist path & I've fallen even more in love with the area and people.

I think things breaking around the house can cause a lot of stress.

Our washing machine is leaking. It still works okay, but there's that stress knowing we're going to soon have to buy another one.

I still have not been to Victoria, although I've really been wanting to go. I can't decide if I'd want to take the kids for a day or two or (better yet), maybe a bed and breakfast with DH. You'll have to tell me all about it, and what makes it so wonderful!
