Knowing that most news stories are rehashed off the wire feeds, it's rare that anything makes me pause but this rather blatant declaration of monarchy did:
The White House said Bush hasn't had to veto any bills until now because Congress has always bowed to his will. KIROTV.com, as of 11:17 PDT update.
The closest equivalent I can find off the wire is
Bush had made 141 veto threats during his time in office, and the Republicans controlling Congress typically respond by changing bills to his liking. SeattleTimes.com
None of my professors would have let the first one slip as a paraphrase for the most basic of assignments, nor would I have been stupid enough to word it that way in the first place.
