Duh
That pretty much sums up the weekend. Saturday was a good bit of yardwork with my mom, then we picked up my aunt from Mt. Shasta (still seems so weird to say there instead of Denver) and had ourselves quite a time that night. We hadn't seen her since Kieran was 9 days old, and it was amazing to watch them play. I was even jealous because a whole new playful side of Kieran playing make believe suddenly came out with her.... never had before for us.
Eleanor has always been my favorite aunt, and over the weekend I figured out why. Even though she herself doesn't have kids, she KNOWS kids somehow & how to click with them instantly. Kieran normally has a 15-20 minute range of The Stare with anyone new before being his usual self, but not with Aunt Eleanor. Within 5 minutes he was crawling right into her lap so she could read the book she brought for him. Watching them both pretending to be elephants was absolutely hysterical though, and even though I tried a similar approach later he just wasn't into it with me as much as he was with my aunt. I know it won't be the last time he'll prefer playing with someone else besides Mommy, but I was at least hoping his first time would be with a friend his age and not his great-aunt!
Sunday sucked. Ryan was tearing apart & replacing components in both our computers and things weren't working. That resulted in him being in the office all day trying to get them to work & me watching Kieran without a break, which made all of us cranky the few times we were all together. At least the computers did work in the end, but it was an annoying waste of a weekend day in the meantime.
