Downsized expectations

After all of the panic of last week, on Monday our prof humbly said that he was 'downsizing my expectations of the exam and the material it will cover', provided us with a new study guide to streamline the behemoth he gave us previously, and sent us on our way.

If tonight's midterm was downsized, I don't even want to think about what his regular expectations are. 60% of it was relatively easy, short answer true/false matching stuff along with a chart answer format that (eerily enough) I already did as my own personal study guide right down to including a small part from one lecture that ended up being a bonus question (score). It's the 40% based on two essay questions that were rather ambiguous and lengthy that concern me, but I have to remember I got an 87% on my first paper in my last class (worth roughly the same as this midterm) and still ended up with a 4.0.

I've downsized my own expectations to a B for now though. Hopefully we'll get these back before our first paper is due so I can adjust my writing style accordingly, although papers for this class aren't nearly as intensive an effort as they were in my last one.
