And so I'm having a wonderful time...

Both overhead lights in my office have apparently burnt out at once, and with no windows that means I get to hover near my inadequate desk light while waiting for building maintenance to show up.

The effect this has had on my coworkers is hilarious. They hesitantly come around the corner, see me sitting here and don't quite know what to do. I can see the wheels churning as they try to figure out why I'm hanging out in the dark before I say 'the lights are out, building maintenance has been called'. They have all appeared greatly relieved with this answer. I guess they think I'm about to go postal otherwise.

Maybe that's not far off from the truth after all....

I had similar situation where I've had a horrible headache, so was working with only my desk lamp. As a result, any time I turn the lights off and use the lamp, they all tiptoe around me and suggest I leave early.

I'd really dig that if I weren't hourly.
