The above comment was from the nurse who took out the first stitch, only to have the cut split open under it & gush blood again. The others weren't quite as bad, but all painful. I am 9 days into the 7-10 day window the dr. said I could have the stitches out in, but apparently this cut had other ideas. I now have 5 days of slight prodding & steri-stripping (how kinky) ahead, and she warned me that I'm probably going to have a nasty scar since it's not healing well already. I'm hopeful the essential oil my mom used for a deep cut will help, I didn't want to put that on earlier and risk something going screwy with the stitches. Who knows, maybe I should have & they might have come out easier since they would be oily?

All the people who assured me that having stitches taken out was no big deal lied. I swear my husband will have to take Kieran in if he ever needs stitches, because I am now absolutely terrified by the whole damned process.

OMG!

That's just awful! :( I was totally hoping that your stitch-removal would be a breeze, in comparison to getting them in the first place. I'd be having a very stiff drink with my Chinese food, if I were you. Heal quickly!!
