Mind the gap

In a rather odd way, I'm more freaked out by the London bombings than 9/11 since I've been in a lot of those stations and can visualize the areas but have never seen New York.

Of course, I'm keeping with my involuntary morbid song recall dating back to the Murrah bombing in 1995. Route 66 was just sarcastic, Oklahoma City looks oh so pretty. A more realistic King's Cross (Pet Shop Boys) has been stuck in my head all day and it's driving me insane.

Yeah, panic on the streets of London definitely applies too, but the PSB reference to King's Cross station is just way too precise & freaky for me!

The only time I've been on the East Coast is an 8th grade class trip to Washington D.C. and surrounding historical sites. I hate heat/humidity with a passion and don't like extreme winters either, I'm a full on West Coast weenie :)

Eh, you're not missing too much by not having been to NYC....but then I'm just not a fan of the east coast :) If you're going to spend time on the east coast, New England is the best heh

And I can't say I was too enamored of it!

I do something similar, only it's not just the morbid songs that spring to mind, it's pretty much every life event. Comes from having watched too much MTV and listened to too much Live105 in high school.

I feel so badly for those poor people. Over 700 reported injured by noon today, and about 40 I believe killed.

I have a whole soundtrack to my life in my head too!

It is tragic, but then again London is tough.. they went through the Blitz and plenty of IRA bombings. It's remarkable that they have the Tube almost completely back to normal already!
