Vanity, thy name is tax deductible

I had to laugh when I saw the site update for the new UW license plates saying they were available starting today.

The truth is, they were available starting yesterday via a super-secret mailing list. I got a number fifty-something & was quite pleased. Death to the weasel dog!

See...I would drive a car with the weaseldog on it. Haha! (But it should be noted that I like any reminder of the word "weasel").

Okay, somehow I do like the stylized art too, even though it is sleeker on the throat than any Husky.

Now, now...I've resolved to get my license this year, if not a car. Hurricane Katrina--of all things--made me wanna be legal, even though there is little chance of that variety of catastrophe here. (The only cataclysm we'll see coming is a volcanic eruption...and it will not be as bad). Anyway, not being able to legally rent a car is an unnecessary way to limit myself. It occurred to me that if I'd been a New Orleans resident I would have been able to get out, because I am unnaturally good at saving money, but I wouldn't have been able to transport my father and his dog (he wouldn't have gone anywhere unless he could take her). I didn't like that at all. Funny what'll finally move me. :D

...But I do have weaseldog address labels! :) (Thank God there are some pretty picture-labels as well). I send weaseldog labels on Comcast and Qwest bills, as a symbol of my contempt. :D
