I win the POS computer award!!!

I've been battling this old beast at work for quite some time, but constantly running out of virtual memory since I've been back from vacation finally inspired me to get someone at the help desk to put it out of its misery.

What type of POS is it?

One that's only got 128 MB of RAM on W2K. Yes, total RAM. It's a good thing my job is approaching 100% online systems work or this thing probably would have blown up.

The tech wouldn't believe me until he remote accessed it, and I could hear the shock in his silence after he clicked on the properties. Nothing ever moves fast around here but hopefully that will prod someone into action.

Oh dear.

You know, I recently had some RAM in my work computer go dead, and am running at 256MB pending receipt of a new order. I can hardly do my job, it's so slow. How on earth are you managing?

I think the appropriate answer is, "Then, a miracle occurs..." because this defies logic. I always assumed it was a piddly old 256 MB but had no idea things were this bad.

you want i should send my brother to take care of it? he's a detective and for some reason he was being stupid and cleaning his gun at work. the gun went off and an innocent computer died. so he's got no problems with taking one out. ;)
