Thirteen?!?!?!
Oct. 20th, 2002 02:58 pmI volunteer as a caregiver at my church's nursery. I should be more specific, at the nursery for the sitting steadily to walking steadily nursery... we have a second one for the newborn crowd so they don't get run over. Yes, I go to a huge church. In any case, we had 13 babies split among 5 caregivers this morning and it wiped all of us out when they all started getting tired, hungry and/or cranky at the same time. This is why I only volunteer every other week, doing this on a weekly basis would also make me tired & cranky. I admire those who work in daycare, I couldn't do it!
Kieran was in the newborn nursery while I was in the other nursery, and was so well-behaved that they begged me to bring him more often so they could play with him. Up until now I've kept him with me during actual church services because Mommy has separation anxiety issues if he's further than a room away (unless he's with Daddy or Grandma). My guess is that Kieran could care less, so next week I'll try leaving him and seeing how well I do.
Hmm. It appears my first entry disappeared into oblivion, so we'll try this again. Tomorrow is my second day back at work, and hopefully I can grab my job back from the Temp Who Will Not Let Go. More on that tomorrow!
