In a little over a month, I'm taking a day off work and stealing Kieran away to Canada to play with some online friends of mine up there. Lucky kid, I didn't get to go to another country until I was in 4th grade... he'll be 9 months old & we're planning a trip to Scotland in a few years as well.
'Tis odd, this modern parenting thing. In the past I looked forward to meeting online friends off IRC at parties, clubs etc. Now I get together with other moms I know from online forums, our kids play together while we talk, we take tons of digicam pictures then share them with everyone else on the forum. I did that for the first time last weekend and it felt strange yet familiar. At least Kieran will have quite the network of friends all over the place from an early age, I had to wait until college for mine :)
