The stomach virus turned evil last night and made us both so dehydrated & lacking in electrolytes that even going around the corner to the store was too much effort so we lay around and bitched & moaned instead.
That is, until our box fan decided to blow up with a loud pop and puff of smoke while shooting sparks at the couch around 11 as I happened to get up for a glass of water.
The internal house temperature was holding steady at 79 degrees (and thankfully no couch en flambe) which would not do with a high in the 90s forecast for today. Ryan was definitely the sicker one out of the two of us, so I got to encounter the lovely nightlife that makes Walgreen's far more popular than it ever is while I'm there in the morning. Never thought my life would ever degrade to that for an evening's entertainment with a nightcap of an Immodium shot & Gatorade chaser.
At least the house got down to 73 in the morning, we're feeling much better, and Kieran slept through everything and still has no sign of getting whatever we've got. We are NEVER sick during the summer, and to have this and the evil high fever hit in the same month really confuses me. The only thing I can think of is my body has completely forgotten how to handle heat for extended periods of time and shut my immune system down.
Too tired & hot to think of much else to say.
