Pride & insanity
Apr. 15th, 2004 01:33 pmThere is nothing quite like the reassurance from an old friend that you are not a complete idiot & she is quite proud of you. It took me this long to tell the bride-to-be who I consider my sister that I'm actually back in school. I had a self-imposed intimidation factor based on the fact that she recently earned a Ph.D, and she essentially told me I was on crack for being embarrassed about it.
I still am though.
I am also going insane from a lack of vacation. We're running away during finals week since I don't have a final this quarter, just a class project that I'll finish the week before. If anyone else at work has the audacity to die while I'm gone (as has happened the last few times I've taken a vacation), I'll kill 'em. The rest of June will be inundated with family events and my baby turning two, so my guess is we'll need to run away again in July after all that as well.
