I sent out email thank yous for Kieran's birthday presents until we get his two year portraits back to share. After about half an hour this morning with Kieran repeatedly winding his jack-in-the-box and shouting 'Pop!' each time, I was surprised to find this note in my inbox from my favorite aunt:

Can't wait to see his 2 year old picture......must be shocking to see how
fast he is growing up. It seems just like yesterday that you were that age
and I was playing with you with a Jack-in-the-box. You were a little
startled by it, but also could not leave it alone......where did Jack come
from?! Over and over again....not at all bored with the same thing
happening each time. And look at you now, with a little one of your own.
Every day is precious. I can only imagine what it is like for a mother to
watch her child grow up. We are all Blessed!

My family never really has shared much about their memories of me when I was little before, my mom told some stories that helped explain things to Ryan! Kieran will definitely know all sorts of interesting things about his childhood, even when we're gone there are all sorts of funny and embarrassing stories written in his scrapbooks :)
