I'm more *insert various feelings here* about the events in Russia today than I was about 9/11. Mass carnage in violent terrorist acts is despicable and deplorable in all cases, but to deliberately target children and cause them prolonged suffering before killing them off fills me with emotions I didn't even know existed.

Nobody warned me that motherhood would alter my view on life from what I thought was a beautiful tapestry of color to realizing it was all greyscale compared to once Kieran entered the picture.

I've emailled the website's author explaining who I am, and that there are only 5 descendants of my great-grandfather left & we'd love more information about him and the rest of family. Hopefully whatever he did to piss off the family won't be held against us.
