Enough with the freaky airline news!

Between the dynamite arriving in Texas the same day I did (thankfully not DFW) to the tragedy of the plane taking off from the wrong runway today, I've had more than enough to last me til I get back home, really.

I feel like I'm 9 years old again, but I made a new friend at school and she's so cool! I really hope this is the start of a long friendship. My adviser took me and 2 of the 4 other fellows (although 4/5 of us are women) out to dinner at a local BBQ place and I'm completely hooked on their jalapeno BBQ sauce. The bottle I bought had better not break in my checked luggage or there will be hell to pay. There is much to be said for socializing and connecting over a good meal, even if it involved my first fried okra & I'm still confused about Texas toast being part of meals.

84 degrees on the way back to my hotel almost felt cold to me tonight, apparently I've acclimated.

I'm finally more excited than terrified about school, and while I'll be insanely busy I don't think it'll kill me. Gotta get to my homework before more lectures starting at 8am again tomorrow!
