Sitting around on the couch, absolutely no drama going on for context.
Kieran: Sometimes when I'm sad, then I don't feel sad anymore because I know that you always love me.
Me: *somewhere between puddle and tears* You are absolutely right, sweetheart, I will always love you & I'm so glad to know that helps you not feel sad sometimes.
Statements like this are starting to emerge out of the typical 4-year-old narrative more often lately, but still blindside me each time.
