Ever wander around a hospital's corridors and see department signs for Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Radiology and the like... then come across the rather jarring 'Ear, Nose and Throat'?
My guess is because Otorhinolaryngology on the sign would either require a non-standard size to fit all those letters in one word or make most of their patients assume they are terminally ill. I figured out it was something to do with throats from 'laryn', missed 'rhino' for nose (which I've also mispronounced as the animal in my mind all these years for this context) and blanked on 'oto' for ear.
Today also marks the day I finally got less than 100% on an assignment in one of my classes. I'm not exactly devastated over .95/1 point though.
