4 hours of insanity
Nov. 5th, 2006 11:42 amThe storm on the way must be huge because I have gone completely beserk.
My mom came over a little after 7:30 to visit before heading to the airport for her flight down south (her first in over 6.5 years). We're up at 6am every day anyway so it's not that big of a deal, and to my delight she brought along an unexpected early Christmas present. None of this floofy junk crap that seems to be the realm of many family presents.
Toro Super Blower Vac & a 100 ft. heavy duty extension cord. It is so lightweight & quiet but packs quite a punch. I have visions of it being a snowblower in the winter and can't wait to try that theory.
She left after an hour, and I promptly blew out the leaves in the backyard, walkways, uberdriveway with a gazillon wet birch leaves from our neighbors (didn't stand a chance against 225 mph) and blasted the drainage pipes in front to make sure we dont have flooding tonight/tomorrow. I'll play with the vacuum/mulcher part later.
OMGWTF they just played instrumental from 'Friday I'm in Love' on a.... golf intro?! How could Robert Smith sell out like that?!
Anyway, after that was a Costco run.
When we got home, I decided it would be a good idea to sort & reorganize the entire pantry.
After that, I moved the emergency water & food stash in the closet from an unwieldy storage bin to multiple empty Tidy Cat plastic containers: bright yellow, waterproof, stackable, comfortable handle, easy to carry. Each of those is now equipped with 5 liters of fresh Costco water in addition to the regular food & supplies and can be left alone until mid-2008.
So, how's your Sunday morning going?
