It is very surreal to log onto the website you've been paying your mortgage on for years to be greeted with "Currently, you do not have any home loans with Countrywide." We never heard back anything from Wells Fargo, so my assumption is everything went through fine since our loan was obviously paid off.

We don't have to make a mortgage payment until September, August is free & clear. I cannot believe how hard it is to not spend that money plus the advance on the child credit check that's being mailed to us today. The reality that we now have to pay our property insurance & taxes directly is keeping that in check though. We had a fair amount in escrow from Countrywide (thank goodness I have that documented before they wiped out our account information) that'll come back to us as a refund check too.

Oh alright, maybe we should spend it on a little something as long as it's for the house. I'll keep an eye on Labor Day sales toward the end of the month, new couches downstairs would be awfully nice.
