*bouncy bouncy bouncy*
Dec. 12th, 2003 05:51 amI completely forgot about one aspect of college, that it is impossible to fully get into the holiday spirit until you have the stress of classes & finals out of the way. The difference between when I left the house last night to turn in my final paper & when I returned home with brownie sundaes to celebrate another quarter end is amazing.
I woke up around 4:30 out of habit (I do my best writing at ungodly early morning hours, so that's what I've been doing all week to finish the paper) and gleefully ran downstairs to wrap, package & label everything that needs to be shipped around the country & world. I like having to write 'Flat #' and 'Embankment' as part of mailing addresses and wish I could go where the packages are going. I have a to do list for this morning because I want to do everything at once.I want that feeling of accomplishment of being DONE with the Post Office for another holiday season (and it feels so good). I want a peppermint mocha (settled for sugarplum, forgot it was freebie Friday at SBC). I want to drive around and point out Christmas lights to Kieran. I want to sew crafty holiday stuff. I want to bake hundreds of cookies. I want to go caroling even though nobody ever does that anymore and my voice sucks now. I want sit by our Christmas tree when the timer kicks the lights on and watch Kieran look up in wonder.
But for now I hear Kieran singing to himself in his crib over the monitor, meaning the family morning needs to start.
