Out of curiosity to try a new dinner entree that required no prep work on my part, we picked up some chicken enchiladas from Costco for dinner tonight.
They were quite tasty & there's a lot left over. Unfortunately they also contained major allergy triggers for both my husband & I, and we paid no attention to the label! For him it's garlic, we joke that he's part vampire & there is no antidote for his reaction to that. For me it's green chile peppers, which I methodically picked out as I was eating but it apparently wasn't enough. Within a half hour my cheeks felt flushed so I went to see & it looked like I put too much blush on; out came the Benadryl.
Now I have that lovely lethargic drugged feeling combined with nausea, but at least I can breathe. Green bell peppers cause my throat to swell, and the red variety of both chile & bell cause no reaction whatsoever. This makes no sense to me.
My husband keeps half-joking that we need to take ourselves to the ER, he's managed to minorly electrocute himself twice & cut his finger (not too deep) over the past few days. We're falling apart nicely over here, but at least we have a new awesome computer setup in the rec room and I have my music/crafts/sewing room. Hopefully we'll enjoy it without killing ourselves first!
