... I'm racing around like it was spring cleaning time.

Saturday was all about playtime and seeing [livejournal.com profile] northwardbound for the first time in over a year and a half. Somehow it didn't seem that long as we sat down to tea as we have so many times before though, although we definitely need to have her husband join us during the Paris flyby later this year! I think I have a successful Alaskan sourdough starter in my oven (the light is a perfect incubation temperature) & Kieran has aptly named his new stuffed moose Alaska since that's what his hat says. Sheer logic from him as usual!

Sunday was family Costco time then a reflective walk in a local cemetery alone despite chilly temperatures... at least it wasn't pouring. Contemplative time quickly transformed into constructive time with an unexpected stop by Home Depot then spending a fair number of hours stripping & recaulking our tub, scouring it then polishing the marble walls and countertops in the bathroom. Future plans this week include recaulking the kitchen sink & installing one of those cheater strips along the kitchen wall/countertop to cover stains that were there when we moved in almost 7 years ago that no amount of bleach or other cleaners seems to be able to remove.

Monday we went to the zoo, and I can so relate to the sentiment expressed by the bear in my icon. Kieran ran full tilt for about an hour and a half before burning out, we noticed our thighs & butts were getting a little numb and left soon afterward. Aww... Kieran is standing to my left and started singing the Hibernation song once he saw my icon. It's to the tune of Alouette and the chorus (in the version his preschool does) is 'Hibernation, time for hibernation. Hibernation, sleep the time away.' He is never too impressed by the bears in the wintertime.

Anyway, after that I cranked out some serious editing work for 2 8x10 black & white pictures of Kieran and my husband, then went shopping for picture frames armed with a half off coupon. To my delight the perfect frame for the double mount was already half off, so I used the coupon on a frivolous & colorful desk frame. We're off soon to pick up those prints, I'm overhauling my office at work as I've had too much of the same stuff as my surroundings as I've moved from place to place over the years.

There's more in the overhaul pipeline as well, but even I don't know what else is going to be changed soon!
