Heroin at 8:30
Mar. 4th, 2003 09:15 amAs anyone who has 1) a young child and 2) daytime TV hours to kill knows, one of the hottest shows on currently is The Wiggles. They are Australian, two of them are from an old 80s band named The Cockroaches, and all are downright bizarre. They are also addicting for some inexplicable reason.
Kieran could care less about The Wiggles, as he still only likes Sesame Street and zoning out to the evening news when we're trying to get him to take a nap so we can eat dinner in peace. I, on the other hand, have been sucked into the delusion that he's watching The Wiggles with me or (even worse) watch them myself while he's taking a nap.
Their songs have a habit of sticking in my head for days, and it's impossible for anyone to mention fruit salad without thinking 'yummy yummy' to myself. I do have to admit that 4 Aussies singing Hevenu Shalom Aleihem was disturbing, but most entertaining at the same time. I haven't given in and bought their DVDs yet, but I have a feeling it's just a matter of time.
