Red power Wednesdays?
Oct. 22nd, 2003 04:35 pmWhen I saw one of my coworkers in the restroom wearing the same clothes I am (red long sleeved top, black dress pants) we laughed and went on our way. When I saw a second coworker in the hall dressed the same way, I began to wonder why we all decided to wear red long sleeved tops & black dress pants today. I'm willing to consider anything coincidence once, but 3 women wearing the same clothes at the same time is very odd here. It's also made me sad as the only other person I used to wear red tops at the same time with was my coworker who died in August.
Tomorrow is my performance evaluation, and I'm trying to find the courage to ask for a Career Enhancement/Growth Program step (aka CEGP, aka raise) if it isn't offered to me. I've been at the top of the automatic increment table for a while (State classified jobs suck), I'm 2 classes away from completing my HR Admin & Fiscal Mgmt certification programs, my last eval ranked my work volume as 'outstanding' (more than 10% above expectation) and I'm doing more work now than I did then.
In my book, all that qualifies as 'development of skills and increased productivity' that is part of qualifying for it. Of course it's completely discretionary.. she could say no and admit that I do meet those specs, and all I could do is bitch about it.
We shall see.
