Speaking of Sacramento
Jul. 24th, 2004 02:01 pmFor the record I was arranging a playdate there at the beginning of the scorcher temps, not arranging to bring the weather from there here.
Truth be told, I could care less how hot it is outside. The first day in the high 80s is always a bit of a shock, but after that in a stretch of consistent heat it doesn't bother me if I don't have anything to do besides errands or sitting around unless it's over 100. What I'm more annoyed by are hot indoor temps, but I just can't justify the expense of air conditioning where 90+ temps are rare occurrences.
Yesterday we were able to keep upstairs to 80, which I was rather impressed by since it was 16 degrees hotter outside. I doubt we'll have similar luck today since we weren't able to cool off upstairs with our humble box fan lower than 75. Thank God for a guest room in the finished basement and no more houseguests so we can use it!
