Conversation at work with someone who has known me forever...
Me: I can't believe [your daughter] graduated from high school this year when it seems like you all were there to celebrate mine just yesterday.
Him: *smiling* I remember it too... are you 30 yet?
Me: 31 actually.
Him: Wow.
Me: My sentiments exactly.
*continued rambling about the homeland*
Do you have any idea how strange it is to have that connection with someone at your office when you're talking about a place & past history that is two states and hundreds of miles away?
