Safe mode is no longer functional and prospects of hard drive recovery are apparently slim.
Back from scratch as due to a long story of transition & 'who's on first?' between the two departments I've worked for, my files that I thought were being backed up nightly... weren't.
If it was my own computer that died & I didn't make sufficient backups it'd be one thing, but this has me pretty pissed off as I have lost very important payroll & human resources data that I have no easy way to recreate.

This may seem petty and spiteful....
Either that or give them the option of being run through both eyes with a hot poker.
Sheesh. I feel for you, I really do.

Date: 2006-06-27 08:48 pm (UTC)Thankfully about 90% of my work is on web-based applications so I'm quite functional. The 10% that may be lost is several years to current data in hiring, compliance, FMLA and other confidential crap that is too painful to think about. Losing my carefully crafted email address book is a minor annoyance in comparison.
My colleagues are immediately pulling through to provide me with what I need for here forward which is nice though.
