At the completion of this assignment you should be able to:
1. identify some of the key metadata online sites
2. research mappings between multiple metadata systems (MARC, Dublin Core, SGML, XML)
3. describe possibilities for co-existence of multiple metadata systems
Oh fun and joy! Don't you wish you were me? *retch* I'm just glad this one is a simple pass/fail & not 10% of my grade because my brain is DOA.

Date: 2006-09-23 04:56 am (UTC)The sad thing is I kinda know those things! I work with the r but when talking to the librarians MARC field comes up all the time. (As well as their opinion of MARC and Dublin Core)
One time we were interviewing this petite librarian and she had a soft soft voice so no one could hear her, except when she said "metadata." "mumble mumble mumble METADATA ....mumble mumble mumble METADATA ....mumble mumble mumble METADATA ....mumble mumble mumble METADATA .....
