Thanks to jakeaidan's description of his recent trip, it's now taking all self-restraint possible to keep from packing up Kieran and driving down to California to hit my beach with a sourdough bread bowl from Boudin full of clam chowder, then swinging by Beverages & More on my way back home. The overpriced State liquor store selection here just does not cut it.

Definitely time to travel this summer, I haven't been back to California since October of 2000 and we haven't been anywhere except WA since we got back from Europe in June 2001. My aunt & her partner recently bought a stunning house near Mt. Shasta that they'll move to in June, so we have the perfect overnight stop for a road trip as well. There is so much to introduce Kieran to down there, I can't wait :)

I used to go back every six-to-nine months, and it's been more than a year since I've last been. I'm looking at an early June trip back, though -- I'm soooo excited! =]

I used to go back frequently too, then thought that I didn't really miss the homeland all that much the longer I've been away. I was wrong.

We're probably even going to swing by Sacramento when we go (July/August), crazy but needs to be done :)
