twilight33I've come to the conclusion that I can't tell the difference between a nasty cold and allergies. I never had allergies before I moved up here (well, except to penicillin, bees & green peppers) and am going off the assumption that I'm having a bad allergy attack because the majority of my coworkers are griping about their allergies today as well.
Avoided the angsty people last night, a very good thing since Kieran & I decided sleep was an important thing to do at 7:30 when they would have been over. They might come over this afternoon which is fine by me... Ryan can deal with them.
Right now I'm rather puzzled by two wage verification requests regarding unemployment benefits for people who are currently and have been employed by us for quite some time. I've alerted HR about this because I suspect this means fraud of some sort, but am not too sure what we do about it. What fun!
I also really hate HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). I understand & agree with the principle of it, but it's made my job a real pain in the ass and resulted in a permanent lockdown status for many floors where my employees are due to PHI (Protected Health Information, i.e. diagnostic info on patient bills containing names & addresses) and it's annoying to have to call them all the time to let me in. Oh well. Along with all the bureaucratic crap we do, I'll get used to it in time.
