Well crap, there was a community post that provided the perfect explanation of this but a mod went and deleted it. Hrmph. Anyway, we scored a small box of things (still over $20 normally) picked out from the Archie McPhee sidewalk sale today that was mostly piratey. We were headed to the cashier when a Viking (employee) hollered, "Hey! that's a North Texas shirt, that's where I went!" Kieran had the good fortune to spill juice on the shirt he was initially wearing this morning and literally changed into his UNT sweatshirt just as we were headed out the door.
He went there while it was still North Texas State University but still Mean Green. He then marked our entire box for only a dollar! Thanks Steven, you are awesome and totally made our day. We have 1 of the 48 Gro Dinos soaking.
What, you expected some normal flowers & foo-foo Mother's Day report from me?

Date: 2007-05-14 05:23 pm (UTC)It's when I unexpectedly find a feather directly in my path as I'm walking, I am supposed to pick it up and keep it nearby for a time. I have found over the years that they are portents for enormous change, and not always welcome change at that. White generally tends to be good, but grey/black mean to hang on tight for some bad times but I'll make it through.
I'm thrilled you have a positive association with them as well and they sound really cool, my husband (born in the year of the dragon) would love the puzzle though ;)

Date: 2007-05-14 03:31 pm (UTC)That's so cool about the UNT shirt. It was North Texas State University back when I was in college (eons ago) until 1988. It was North Texas State Teachers College back when Breathless' dad graduated from there (in the 30s) - he made some bookends with the logo at the time on them that we still have.
