I hate being late.
Most of you know that about me already. I was told having a child would lessen that attribute of me a bit but it hasn't. I apologize if someone has had to wait 5 minutes for me, and people are known to wonder if something has happened to me if I'm more than 20 minutes late since that's an extreme rarity.
I was running 2 minutes late from preschool dropoff. Nobody at work ever notices or cares, but I do.
However, this morning a semi had literally just rear-ended a hatchback in the left turn lane right before my office parking lot where I should have been if I was on time. All were ok but obviously the hatchback driver was rather pissed off.
I got in my office, emailed my husband about it, and he said that one of his coworkers told him someone had rear-ended a truck on one of the arterials I take to Kieran's preschool just after I had driven through.
Apparently nobody in Seattle is paying attention this morning. Be careful, be a few minutes late, but not too late. It's not the end of the world.
