Tired but well, and still stuffed from an early dinner of the best seafood I have ever eaten in my life.

Yes, in Montana.

Yes, despite living in Seattle and having been to Hawaii 3 times.

The mahi-mahi with a lemon-ginger glaze topped with pears & lobster (it sounds bizarre but SO GOOD trust me) I had is actually fresher than many places in Hawaii. The chef is originally from Hilo and must still have strong connections because he buys the fish off the boats there on Mondays, it arrives on ice via FedEx in Montana on Wednesday, and OMG so good. Bless you, Frommer's or I never would have found this place in a million years.

Which is to say, somewhere around 27th, a few block north of 6th? (It that is right, though, Perkins should be on the other side...)

Good recall! That picture was taken at the intersection of 27th or Broadway & 7th or 8th. I'm not hoofing it back up there to doublecheck though, we're going for a walk to Moss Mansion before dinner now and our hotel is near the Post Office.

I don't remember where the post office is. I do remember that the last place I lived there was 2506 6th Ave N. A few blocks from where you took that picture. (You probably also saw the pool where I spent every summer, and Deaconess Hospital, where I got allergy shots on the way home from school for 2 years.)

Moss Mansion is beautiful.

PO is a block north of Montana Ave, which I can tell was once completely run down and now just some parts are. I didn't know Far & Away was filmed in part at the Billings Depot, which (along with Montana Ave) was substantially renovated in the late 90s.

Wow. I'm amazed the place is still standing. Mine was the room to the left of the porch.

Montana Ave used to be the bad part of town. I'm glad to hear they're cleaning it up.
