When it pours, there's fire?
Oct. 20th, 2003 04:02 pmTwo fire alarms resulting in building evacuations & quality time standing in the parking lot with coworkers in the pouring rain. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if we didn't have to go back to work looking like drowned rats & the fact that I'm on day #2 of a nasty cold. Building management verified that the cause is faulty equipment that is being replaced, but they didn't say when. Would a real fire trigger said faulty equipment if heavy rain apparently does? Not a very reassuring thought.
The weekend was a mixed bag. Saturday's beautiful weather led us to a great pumpkin patch in Everett that resulted in a free hayride & a 25+ lb pumpkin we picked from the vine ourselves for $5.50. I love those times when I know we're starting a new family tradition, and Kieran loved smacking pumpkins around and meeting his first horse. Sunday sucked. Kieran woke up repeatedly through the night, my cold hit, then Ryan fell up the stairs and really messed up his knee :(
I'm pretty sure my cold & Ryan's fall are both from exhaustion. I've lost track of how many days it's been since we've had a full night's sleep with Kieran's teething... 12 teeth in, at least 2 on the way at once now. I'm also stressed out about a paper due tomorrow that is a third of my grade. The prof has the strangest format for papers that I've ever encountered & I don't know if I'm doing said format right. My interpretation involves a Pinto, an Accord & a Passat as part of a 'diagram' for it, yet has nothing to do with cars but the social status of people from Ghana in Germany. We shall see.
