Kieran still doesn't know what to make of snow:

I was hoping we'd be able to stop by
bhingque's party even just for a little while tonight (although I have chocolate dream bars instead of cupcakes, maybe they wouldn't let me in). The above-freezing weather has calmed my 'we're all going to die in an accident caused by some drunk hitting us & skidding out of control on ice' fears, but Kieran crashed asleep about 45 minutes ago. Humbling yet mind-boggling that it was from said NYE party time 6 years ago that I laid the plans to bravely run away from California.
From my old journal dated 10 Nov 97, Strange flights of fancy are taking root, from Alaska [you weren't the first one to consider it,
northwardbound ;)] to Sacramento to Seattle, the possibilities are truly endless... for once, the Sentinel of Security is considering moving far from everything, there are just too many memories anchoring me to parts of my past that I no longer am. The question is, will I actually do it?
How times change. I can still see myself sitting in my Larkspur flat on a POS laptop held together with duct tape writing that, and less than 3 months later I moved to Seattle with an apartment & a job. Many, many things have happened since to change my life... but this is home & I'm not leaving it unless it's wiped off the face of the planet.
I am I with no regrets. Happy New Year :)
