All clear

Taken from our bedroom window. Our power has been flickering all morning and we've seen & heard the flash/boom of at least 4 transformers blowing, but nothing compared to the bang this thing did when it crossed two power lines at once. The branch fell to the street just as the fire truck got here, and they watched as the part of the tree it came from smoldered a bit then died off. Thank God for all the ice coating everything & the rain picking up, or much more of that tree would have been history.

Power is apparently out at work, our supervisor called at 6:30 this morning and said not to report in unless she called with a further update. We're still waiting.

Holy cow that's scary! I would not have been a happy camper if I'd seen a flaming tree on power lines like that. How's your basement holding up? We started to get a wee bit of water in just a bit ago....yick. At least our basement is unfinished :)
