twilight33We got out of class a bit early tonight, so I went around and measured the flower beds that I want to start doing things with (adding compost and/or mulch, a few need weed fabric due to incessant grass) in our yard.
I left several long beds out that are happily shrubbed and still ended up with almost 800 sq. ft. No wonder I have always been so intimidated by the yard, that is just 200 sq. ft. less than the top floor of our house & massive compared to the compact suburbia perimeter gardens I grew up with. It also adds up to more spare change than we have to treat all that, so I'm paring down expectations & keeping an eye out for sales in the future.
