I have been far more concerned about my term paper, worth a quarter of my grade, than my final over the past week. The concern was over the fact that it just wasn't going anywhere, but that was because I was trying to approach it from a normal and reasonable thought of writing it on weekend afternoons while Kieran was having a nap or outside playing with his dad.

Nope. For whatever reason, I can only write by getting up by 5am at the latest and listening to the cats fight as the rest of the house sleeps on until 6am, and then in the rushed 20 minutes between when Kieran goes down for his nap and I have to go to work. This results in me prepping stuff for dinner in a minute, and not enough time for me to make a sandwich for lunch. Last night for dinner we had grilled wild sockeye with cajun seasoning, salad & homemade bread timed to be done when I got home from work. My lunch was the two tortillas, yogurt & a Diet Dr. Pepper I could easily grab and run out the door with.

Ah well, at least my paper is done to hand in tonight. I'm employed. Claritin continues to keep allergies down to a dull roar. Kieran just woke up and is reciting the alphabet over the baby monitor. Life is good.

I just took the first dose today- I'm hopeful that this will help. I never had problems with allergies when I lived back east, not even when I lived in the south, so I was surprised to think that I had them now. I never would have believed it if I hadnt been all yucked up before I left WA, fine in TN, and then yucked up again as soon as I came back!

I was actually at Target last night when I heard about the eruption. My little DS has been SO stuffed up that I just couldnt put him through another night without trying a new medicine. DH was gone to Seattle, so I had the kids in tow and was trying to grab Claritin tabs for me, Children's Claritin for the kids, and a big pack of kleenexes, and the last Childrens Clartin had the top of the box open, but I took it anyway. As I was standing in the checkout line my nose started dripping furiously, so I was trying to hold all my stuff, keep my DS hand, and open the kleenex package, and I ended up tipping over the Childrens Claritin box and it fell out and shattered all over the floor. So after I dragged the kids and my armload of stuff back to the pharmacy and determined that yes, it was actually the last box in the store, I ended up having to go across the street to Safeway to buy another bottle!

So, long story short, we ran into our pastor at Target and he told me about the mountain, but by the time I made it back home, it wasnt even on TV anymore, except for the local weather channel! This morning it's pretty foggy down here, but I caught a good glimpse of the mtn on my way to work, and it's quiet and calm again! It's interesting, though, because apprently in 1980, it was similar to this situation, lots of small activites that kept building until the big one!

Where did you live before you moved to Seattle?

Ah, California. My DH was born in East LA, and grew up in the high desert (Victorville/Hesperia). He has had a hard time adjusting the the grayness here.

I think the Claritin seemed to help my DS. Yesterday morning his nose was all crusted over and nasty, and this morning he just had a few little crusties around his eyes and his nose, and he seemed to be breathing easier. My DD wasn't as bad, but she was sniffing a lot last night, so I gave her a dose just for the fun of it!

Today nobody could see the mtn because of all the fog, so the morning radio show I was listening to had callers calling in to tell about their "mountain views" of the morning, which was just them describing their car stereos, since that's the only mtn input anyone had this am! It was stupid, but funny just because they were making fun of the whole media freak-out!
